check out veg at greengrocers ..dont assume asda are cheapest.
very good advice here, on saturdays (when i can do it) i will go to a market and i can buy there 30 apples 4 cauliflowers 5 punnets of strawberries 25 oranges all for just £6 now that would cost me about £15 in asda (this is a general idea, the stock and prices will differ) weeks when i am able to do this i love eating lol :rotfl:0 -

I use my local market and I love it. Fruit and veg are so much cheaper and we get to have "treats" because they are so much cheaper there. Today's treat was a punnet of peaches 8 for a pound. mmmm.
The other great thing about our market is the bread man - who today gave me
6xteacakes
3xhuge torpedo rolls
6xseeded batch rolls for a pound - will keep us in lunches for the week too!
Hurrah for the market!Proud to be Dealing with my Debts0 -
One of the benefits of living in a town-having a market.

I know what you mean, sometimes it feels like just one thing after another. And then there's the unexpected things that you have to spend money on, sometimes not major things but they are still annoying when you can't get out of paying them.DFW Nerd 0350

has anyone else had cucumber from Tesco that's gone off straight away?
I am giving up buying it from there, that's 3 halfs that have been thrown straight in the bin.
They say supermarket fruit and veg lasts longer, and market veg is tastier and doesn't last as long, but I think Tescos is going down the pan, so may too start buying elsewhere.Official DFW Nerd 071/£2 saver=£10
