I would always strip wallpaper off walls , but ceilings ?
If you have flat , firm paper already there, I would seriously think about leaving well alone and just sticking the next layer on.0 -
existing paper has been up for over 10 years, so i am tempted to leave up,
do i need to seal existing paper before applying new ?0 -
If the paper is in good conditions ie the joints are OK not coming away anywhere, then I would clean and coat with a good quality paint no need to seal, I use Crown as when rolled it makes less splashes. If you use a cheap paint, this tends to be very watery and will make the paper bubble more and loosen the adhesive and can be very messy. If its not broke don't fix it!!!Look after the Pennies and the Pounds will take care of themselves. :beer:0

Thats a lot of sense. Clean /freshly painted ceiling is the way to go.
What is wrong with your present ceiling paper.
I had to look up to remind myself what I had on my ceiling0 -
LTJ, thanks for the detail on the paint type, a couple of the paper joints are not smooth.
