What a load of rubbish. Why does everyone have to complain about everything. First it's "oh the 2.13% drop is nothing"... Then it's "OMG this 2.13% increase is gonna be horrible."
    well said :T
Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A

Not a load of rubbish at all - I work for a retailer and know exactly the approach that is going to be taken.......
  • I really noticed the drop in VAT. I found I saved so much money. It was just a PR stunt because the government has royally shagged this country up and subsidised banks and the b -ankers living it up.

    Cheers Tony and Gordon.

If this increase is indeed true I am sure it will help them in the election next year - even though they don't need any help cos they are going to win again.

Why is it every time labour get in they ruin the country and then the conservatives have to spend their time in power clearing up labours mess?

If you don't believe me learn a bit about politics and see the messes that labour leave on the doorstep of number 10 every time they shuffle out with their tails between their legs!!!

Tony, cooee Tony!!! Where are you? You making enough money out there?? Tony I thought you were a committed Christian. Lying and cheating are deadly sins no Tony and Cherie.

Enjoy your millions. Not too sure your souls are that clean though are they?

Not to mention all the blood you have on your hands from pointless wars. Did you not learn from the 80's that Afghanistan is impenetrable? It is Vietnam for the new millennium. How do you shi+ts sleep?

There were three options for retailers -
Keep prices the same, pocket the 2.13%
Keep prices the same, offer 2.13% discount at the till
    Reduce prices by 2.13%

Those that kept the prices the same will still keep the prices the same - they're not going to increase prices from £1 to £1.02 or from £1.99 to £2.03

Those that offered the discount on the till will stop offering the discount on the till

Those that reduced the prices can put the prices back up (eg from 97p back to 99p)

I can't see it working out any other way

I'm sure Tony and Cherie are enthusiasic members of MSE and they will be feeling deeply ashamed of themselves now that you've pointed that out! :p
