Hi everyone this is just about something that happend to me today.
I'm one of those people that always says "If that happened to me i wouldn't let them get away with it" but i dont let them get away with it lol, and say "If they do that i'm going to say something" but never do.
BUT today i went to currys because over a month ago i took an LCD TV back to them which was faulty and they sent it off for a repair and the women said it would take 28days (which i think is stupidly long anyway but hayho) i signed a form and was given a receipt. So i went in to day (day 31 of 28) and told the man at the counter that it had been over a month and i had heard nothing, so he checked on the system but couldnt find anything about the TV, he told me i would have to just wait for them to phone me when they had the TV Back, but for once in my life i wasn't going to let them fob me off and said to him that i had signed a form under a verbal agreement that it would take 28 days for my TV to be returned, he point out on the form i signed that it said it will take 28 days under their service agreement and 47 days for service ont held by them and he then said that to be eligible for the 28 day return on faulty products i should of taken out product cover.
I was getting annoyed at this point because why would i pay an extre £35 to get a product returned within 28 days i would expect to get a direct replacement if i had to pay £35, i knew he didn't know what he was going on about because their service agreement is 28 days for all faulty products. he kept telling me the same thing over and over that i should of taken out product cover but i wasnt having it and told him i that i wasnt going until it had been sorted because i had been told that it would take 28 days and i wouldnt of signed the form if i knew it would take almost 8 weeks. He kept telling me i would have to wait and in the end i said to just get a manager at which he responded "it's no my fault" to which i said to him i know its not you fault to which he said "then stop taking it out on me!" in a really stroppy way, i told him to drop the attitude or i'd lodge of complaint against him, in the end he got a manager and they both disappeared for a while then returned with low and behold a brand new replacement TV.
The manager had some poor excuse that the repair team had returned the TV with the incorrect address and that is why i had not been informed, but then they said i still had the remote control so they couldnt give me the ne TV until i had given the remote back, i began to laugh at this point and said why would i want to keep a remote wich is useless to me so the manager checked the box with the old tv in it and the remote was there they gave me the new TV and all was well, even the stroppy guy was acting all nice to me.
I wont be buying anything from currys again i know they are not renowned for their customer service but their attitude was terrible.
When i first brought the TV the guy serving me kep on swearing which i though was terrible and i should of complained really, i then went to buy a printer about month ago i all the floor staff notice me (it was pretty much empty in the store) and not one came over to help me in the end i had to go over to one of them to get them to help me. They also seem to know very little about their own products and just want to sell you the first thing, they also lie (or are very badly informed) when i was in their today someone wanted to buy mobile broadband and asked if vodafone had good coverage here and the staff member it had excellent coverage, which it does not, there is only a small area in the centre of town where vodafone gets a good signal everywhere else is classed as poor. I think i'll stick with John Lewis from now on, at least they actually care about customers.
Sorry this is such a long post, i'm pretty proud of myself for standing up for myself for once as i beleive if i hadnt i would be waiting and waiting and they would never of phone us.

Yeah, Currys customer service stinks. I was once looking at a tv that was ex-display and the manager asked if I was interested. I said I liked the tv, but it was the same price as a new one one next door at Comet. The guy then swore and said, "Go buy that one then". I should have complained, but I guess I was too shocked. That's what you get at Currys for going in 5 mins from closing.
Well done for making a fuss and getting a new telly. I wished I'd done the same. I never shop at Currys now if I can get the same thing anywhere else.0 -
47 days what? The first I've heard of that.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

something about if the repair is not down to them and is down to the manufacturer then it can take up to 47 days! crazy.
What i thought though was they cant really use that excuse for a Matsui TV seeing as Currys themselves are the manufacturer of these TV's.11K Challenge

Still never heard anything like it. I would suggest, in the kindest way possible, whoever you spoke to was talking out of their posteriorSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you.
