OK, a simple question I know but what washing up liquid do you all recommend?
Stuff like Fairy seems quite expensive but then the other day I got some cheap stuff from poundland and it really doesn't last.
........this ad is just coming back to me....(from the 80's??) some lady (Nanette Newman??) with long tables, Fairy's table the longest, with most dishes etc, boy scouts doing the washing up.......(maybe I'm just making this up????!!)
ANYWAY, is it true that Fairy (or other expensive ones) are better value because they last longer????

i use tescos own mixed half and half with their value stuff - it works perfectly well imho - though i have never used fairy so cant compare to that
( tescos own seems to come on offer so often that i havent bought it at full price for months - the scents are also really lovely )0 -
Well personally i prefer Fairy (but i only buy it when its on offer!!
) cos a teeny squirt goes a long way, whereas you have to use loads of the 'cheapie' liquid cos its so thin and runny

I use Ecover washing up liquid, it is more expensive, but lasts for ages, really is kind to your hands and is better for the environment too. I did try the ecover washing powder, but found it just didn't seem to dissolve in the washing machine, so it was back to Persil cos it seems to be best at doing the job.0

Please be aware that Fairy is made by Proctor and Gamble, who have one of the worst records internationaly for testing on animals. How many LD50 tests went into your nice smelling washing up liquid. Please consider following the advice of the previous poster and use Ecover. One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other0

I've been using Stardrops instead of washing up liqid since DS poured all my Ecover into a bowl of water. It works very well so I haven't bought w/up liquid since.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0

My job windowcleaner over 20 years now And I've used most brands going. But Fairy dose work and last longer than other brands. So in the long run I use less and that works out cheaper. So you could buy a bottle of Fairy split it in two bottles and water it down .Two for the price of one.
JoeYou can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0 -

Ooh!! I remember the advert!
I must admit that I use Fairy, I've tried other brands in the past but I keep coming back to it. I have a stash of them under the sink as I only buy them when they're on offer. I think they're on offer in Sainsburys (or was it Morrisons...?) at the moment where it's 3 for £2 and also 4 for £3.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0 -

I use another environmentally-friendly liquid by a company called Clear Spring (not tried Ecover). It doesn't have any smell, really, which is fine as I hate all those overpowering fragrances. We dilute it in the same amount of water and then have it in a pump action thingy to squeeze on the washing up sponge. It lasts ages.0_o0
