Hi All
Wonder if someone can give me some good advice. I have been awarded 2 compensation claims (approx 12k - 15k) and I'm looking for a decent savings account which I can use to drip feed another monthly savings account at 1k per month which pay better interest rates. I already have an ISA for this year.
The money is currently in a bank savings account with measly interest on it. I have been looking for good accounts but most of them I will be penalised for taking money out on a regular basis so not feasible.
I may be in a situation within a year to use the money as a deposit on a house so I can't put the money in a 12 month bond either, although I can probably get away with a 6 month bond with part of the money I've got in case of emergencies and topping up the drip fed account.
Can anyone suggest a decent account to use please? I am contemplating buying NSI bonds and cashing 1k in ever month - hey I might be lucky - someone has too!
I'm currently not earning (looking for temp work) so I can't tie the money too much either in case I need to use it although I do envisage that I will be able to live on wages from a temp job locally for a bit. When I do get permanent work again I will want to add to my savings again.
Any advice gratefully received
TIA
