Sorry to but in scruffy but my query is kind of linked. How do you find out what school your child should go to, my dd is due to start next year I've searched online & can't find any info about what we need to do. We are in the city centre & it looks like there are 4 or 5 schools within a mile of us are there any schhols we should steer clear of, can we pick which 1 she goes to. I have spent half an hour on the Dundee website & all I have is a list of primary schools. Help

When I moved house in Aberdeen I just phoned the council and asked what catchment area we were going to be in, of course that doesn't mean he has to go there but I wanted him to have school friends near us.

Thanks Mrs T ,rang the education department earlier apparently she is in the catchment area for Rosebank or Our Ladies. Other Schools near to us are Glebelands & Den's Road. After seeing this article in the tele I'm contemplating wrapping her in cotton wool & keeping her in an ivory tower though.

Rosebank is the non denominational school, http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/scottishschoolsonline/schools/rosebankprimaryschooldundeecity.asp

    Our Ladies http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/scottishschoolsonline/schools/ourladysrcprimaryschooldundeecity.asp
is the RC one for your area.

Depends on what you want in the way of RE.

Our DD is at a non denominational school but they still get religious education.hth.

Thank you all very much for your help and suggestions/links.
We have decided on the Emmock woods property and we'll take the school situation as it comes.

Thanks ailuro I'd found that website & knew that ourladies is a RC school but other than that haven't been able to find out a great deal about schools in the area, I'll assume the fact that noone has said avoid such & such means that they are ok. A friends son goes to Glebelands & we are considering there too, such a worry sending my baby girl out into the big wide world.
