DH and I plan to move to dundee with DD and dog. We are looking at a house in Emmock Woods (just off A90). What is the primary school like ( mill of mains) and what secondary would she go to from there?
We are also looking at a house in Liff (the old liff hospital) so opinions on both areas i.e schools etc much appreciated.

TIA for your help

Ah, now I see why you wanted to be near to the road to Aberdeen.

There are trains that stop in Broughty.;)

one other suggestion - use Google to find the post codes of schools suggested, and then use Goople map's wee man to take a walk round the local area.

p.s. you'll be needing the school holday dates then...:D

    http://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/education/primaries/

    is the list of schools.

I think Mill O' Mains would be a feeder fo Baldragon Academy (previously Kirkton High) but don't quote me on that.

    Eh, eh'm ane innah!:rotfl:

I don't talk like that though...

    lol

It's an underestimated city, it's got a lot going for it, but there are some sights too:eek:. Sometimes called the city that's population thinks it's a town, though it has got more cosmopolitan over the years with having a sizeable University population.

  • I've lived in Emmock Woods now for 4 years & love it! There's plenty of fields at the rear of where I am that's very popular with dogwalkers.

Can't comment on Mill o Mains PS as my youngest attends Fintry PS-it's a newbuild just finished this year & still not officially opened so I've not had the chance of a nosy inside it yet. My eldest having attended the 'old' Fintry PS moved onto Braeview Academy (Whitfield High). I had my reservations initially as it had a poor reputation-I was pleasantly surprised however on a visit where we met the staff & were shown around before she moved up there. She's had no problems & is doing well in all her subjects.

Can't comment on Liff, but any other questions feel free to ask.
