Having problems with clickandbuy

I have just wasted a month of my life trying to pay a £20 debt I didn't know I had, for a subscription I had forgotten about, that only comes around every two years, because the bank account that the subscription used to come from was closed and no longer operable.

Because the bank account had been terminated the clickandbuy account had been terminated.

Because the clickandbuy account had been terminated I couldn't pay the £20 or terminate the subscription.

So for the last month I have been receiving threats that if I didn't pay, it would go to collection agencies. All of these threats were by email and I couldn't contact their customer services because you need to have an account to send them an email!!

So I responded to their emails and finally got a case reference followed by a threat that the payment must be made by this certain date or it goes to a collection agency!!

Despite constant and repeated requests by me for them to give me a way to pay the money to them, I got no response whatsoever.

In desperation I sent the money by post under a timed and signed for guaranteed delivery which cost an extra £5.70 only to wake this morning to find another email from them telling me that as they hadn't received the money the matter has been referred to a collection agency!

I am totally exasperated. I could phone them, but at 40p per minute I don't see why I should have to pay out even more money for a £20 debt that I didn't even know I had!?

It is ridiculous that they have no simple resolution method and I have ended up with a fraught and wasteful month of trying to resolve a simple problem, trying to pay a debt, which they refused to help me do!

If you are thinking of dealing with these people DON'T!!!
