We have for 1.5 hours in the morning (really would not do it because I am in such a rush in the morning, but my OH cant wake up if it is cold) and for 4-5 h. in evening. Dunno about the temperature coz old radiators and no room termostat.0

I am so sorry Sunrise I did not answer your question. We have the grandchildren here most days, so the heating is on all the time, other than that its on when needed, but set to 22 this is a very warm house, it has double glazing everywhere, cavity wall and loft insulation all done by the previous owner.Look after the Pennies and the Pounds will take care of themselves. :beer:0

I tested my CH system a few days ago just to confirm that it is still working since using it last March/April. It is, and it won't be going on again unless and until I find myself a new job. I can't see how £64 a week JSA will cover any heating. Just as well that the temp's currently 15 degrees0

I wish I had a thermostat for my heating. The only way I guess what the temp is by one of those Old Age Concern temperature strips which has sat on my fridge for 10 years, and by whether my feet/hands are frozen.
Anyway, currently my heating gets switched on for a couple of hours in the evening (managed the full programmed 4 hours yesterday as I was *freezing* - temp down to about 15C in the kitchen), and it's not on in the morning as I don't need to get up early (no job at the mo!).0
