getting to Basildon from Wolverhampton
Hi All,
Basically I've got to get from Wolverhampton to Basildon next week. I know I can get a train from Wolvo to London Euston. I don't know if I'll be returning the same day, so I've seen a return ticket price for £139. I don't have a problem with this part of the journey it's the rest of the way from London Euston to Basildon.
I've never been to London before, don't know where anything is and I'm finding it a little daunting to be honest.
From the journey planner it looks like I need to get to Euston Square Underground Station and take the Circle Line towards King's Cross St.Pancras, then walk to Fenchurch Street Station and then take the c2c towards Shoeburyness Rail Station to Basildon.
I just wanted to know what sort of ticket I'd need to buy for the London leg of the journey that would cover me for the tube and the train from Fenchurch Street and is this the quickest route for me to take when I arrive in London??
Thanks for any advice you can give me xx

I can't help you very much with the trip across London, hopefully somebody else will help with that but try buying your tickets from Virgin Trains and you can get some Off Peak Return tickets Wolverhampton to Basildon for £50.30 even cheaper if you travel on a specific train (If you need to travel Peak then perhaps mix and match tickets to get it cheaper)Whoa! Buying a through ticket from Wolverhampton to Basildon is likely to be your best bet and will cost a pittance more than a Wolverhampton to Euston ticket. It will include the underground (Tower Hill is the best place for Fenchurch Street, either from Euston Square direct or from Euston itself changing at Moorgate) and the rail trip to Basildon.
Splitting in London where one of the legs is a suburban journey is rarely a good idea.0 -
thanks for that. will have a look at virgin's website - got the price from trainline (think that's what it's called!!). will be travelling peak time - think I'll need to get about the 6am train from Wolvo :eek:0

splitting is one of the things I didn't want to do if I could help it... I was hoping to keep the journey as simple as possible - it doesn't take a lot to confuse me!!! lol
