It's really quite difficult to find information on these sites sometimes. I was looking for restaurant 2-4-1 vouchers and it took me at least 5 mins to find it.
If i may give a little feedback: There are FAR too many fonts and disjointed icons floating around. The colour schemes are badly matched too. The icons look cheap and as if they've been taken from a £0.99p clip art CD you'd find in PC World
I know it is a difficult thing to consider doing - changing the layout and design of a website that gets millions of hits, however it really is beginning to look dated, cluttered and this can lead to problems for new and old users finding information.
There are 2 problems as i see it. 1) Asthetic problems such as some boarders having square corners, some having round corners, too many fonts, too many colours, cheap looking graphics. 2) usability problems like information being lost in a sea of graphics, fonts and colours and a very poor implementation of the search function on the main site.
I know the MSE team do do a lot of work and spend a lot of time updating the site etc. I just think there is a bit too much "throw it on top of the pile" and not enough streamlining and usability analysis of the new articles and site appearance.
I apologise if this post is seen as purely critical, I do appreciate a lot of work goes into the site, i'd just like to see a little more polish on the look of the site. It would greatly enhance the written messages and content I feel.
