Advice re. COD MW2 Order

Hi all,

I ordered 2 copies of COD MW2 from CoolShop.co.uk.

I ordered a PS3 copy for my dad on 04/11/2009, standard delivery (free), it was sent on 08/11/2009 and arrived today, so all happy.

I ordered a Xbox copy for my other half on 05/11/2009, Express Delivery (£1.99) because it was getting closer to release date.

I did then considered adding Express Delivery to my dad's order but it said on the page that it would be delivered in time for the release date so didn't bother, and wondered what on earth the point of Express Delivery was in the first place.

Anyway, yesterday (day before release date) get automated email from the website saying my payment details failed. Thought it was very odd seeing as how I used the same card for both orders but looking at comments on the website this happened to loads of people.

Seeing as it hadn't been sent because of the payment delay I tried to cancel. But, what a surprise, the cancel button didn't work and just displayed an error message.

So I emailed them yesterday, requesting they cancel my order as it won't now be delivered for release date.

Today, I receive an invoice from them (I assume this is their 'sent' confirmation), check on website and it's now been processed and sent!!!

My other half's already gone out and bought a copy as I told him I cancelled it so I don't want it and think it's taking the p*ss to still take the £1.99 Express Delivery charge as well for delivery slower than standard delivery.

Their returns policy basically states that items are to be returned at your own expense.

Now this has p*ssed me off, why should I pay for a game and delivery, when it didn't turn up when they said it would through their own fault. And why should I pay for it to be returned when if their cancel button had worked or they read their emails I wouldn't have been sent it in the first place.

I haven't got the money to waste so this has proper ticked me off. What can I do about this??

Thanks in advance for your help!

Well call up coolshop and ask you would like to return the item/s and would you be refunded for postage, or failing that return the copy from coolshop to the store where your OH bought the other copy from

On the Hotukdeals site, there's a massive thread about COD MW2, and a lot of it is around Coolshop and their antics. They advertised this game on their site at £26 yesterday, took a load of orders, and then said it was a mistake and cancelled all the orders.

Whilst reading the various replies, I saw that a lot of disgruntled customers were using Coolshop's Live Chat system to enquire about their orders. Perhaps you should try that first.
