Anyone else had a 'visit' after switching..?

Hi, I'm in the process of switching Utility companies (not my first time), and I've just had a visit from an 'investigator' from the old company! He's asking about why I've switched, how much the new company "claim" I'll save and which website I used to switch. i think he's basically saying the new company are fibbing...
Anyone else had this happen? Is he legit?

Ask the caller for their name, then shut the door whilst you call the old supplier on a number you know to be correct to verify who they say they are.
If they are not, dial 999 immediately and await the arrival of the old bill.
In the unlikely event they are from the old supplier, you are under no obligation to answer any of his questions. Re-open the door, bid him farewell, and close the door again
