It might also be helpful to look through other threads and see how people did their SOAs. I had been on this forum nearly a year before I did mine so I was very familiar with the whole BR process - it does help.

ps - I'm not suggesting you wait a year but reading up on other posts will make you more knowledgable and know what to expect.

    Good luck!

Thank you for your input on my SOA - I'm really in a tizzie now about the whole thing.....What the hec do I put down if I don't contribute to any household bills other than groceries, this is huuugely more complicated than I was led to believe:eek:. I'm terrified they'll expect my OH to take responsibility for the damn debt.. When I spoke to the CCCS, she only asked me about my income when she did my budget sheet, as I had told her it was my personal debt. I have no interest or asset on his property and no assets of my own.

I'm a nurse and lost my job due to ill health in 2006. I refused to sit on my bum (I couldn't work and developed severe depression for a year). In 2007/8, I set up an online fairtrade retail business which did well for a while but has taking a real hammering over the last 12 months.....

Ye gods this is a rollercoaster of emotions, one minute I feel I'm on top of it, the next I'm leaning over the edge of a pit.

  • It is not complicated. Just fill out the outgoings as I have indicated then add your OH's contribution to make the final figure balance.

For example say all your outgoings = £1000 and your income is £200 then your OH contributes £800 to balance the books.

Hope that helps. Please don't panic at all. You will get through this and we will try and support you all we can.

    (((hug)))

And no they can't make your OH responsible for your debt, so that is one worry out the window.

  • Oh that makes more sense, thanks. Will have to go through the SOA fully in the morning, my brain's seizing!
