Any advice on taking up the offer of free H.I.P. when using EA own solicitor( to sell!)
Am I right in thinking this is not a good idea and getting my own solicitor and paying for HIP would be cheaper anyway.
Would be gratefull of any thoughts on the matter.

it depends on what their solicitor is charging. Have they given you a quote?

do a search on there, there's a lot on this already.

But the general consensus on here seems to be Stay Away from This.

    - if you change EAs then the HIP will stay with them, so you'd have to pay anyway.

    - using the EAs solicitor has led others to issues over whose best interest is being served.

We are using the solicitor we used before and actually got them to arrange the HIP. The HIP wasnt as cheap as some online, but was a lot cheaper than the EA was quoting. Unfortunately we had issues with the hip, but because the solicitor wanted to keep our business they were resolved quickly and with a partial refund - i'm not sure an internet company would have done the same.

    good luck!
