Broken Washing Machine-Please Help!

Can anyone give me some advice with a small washing machine problem I have.
When the machine is near the end of a load the dial starts to click round and doesn't complete the cycle. I've checked the filter and pump and can't see anything blocking them. I think the problem starts when it tries to drain. The drum spins (and sounds like an aeroplane taking off) then it starts making a throbbing noise and the drainage pipe moves with every throb. ( No dirty jokes please!)
I turn the machine off and the clothes don't feel that wet but I don't know if it's rinsed the fabric softener out.
Is it worth paying £60 call out for an engineer to possibly tell me to bin it or should I just buy a new one. It's only 4 years old. ???
Many thanks

Does your machine outlet 'share' a waste pipe ? i.e. is it plumbed under the sink with the regular sink/drainer ?
If so , something may have passed into the machine pipe and caused a blockage .
Check this first . If it's by itself , there could be something else blocking the outlet . Start at the outside draiage point and work inwards.

i Know you say its not the pump but in my opinion most of the times it is, can you def see that all the water is being pumped out of the machine.
Try removing the drainage pipe and placing a bucket on the floor and hold the pipe in the bucket and try setting the machine to spin and see if the water drains anymore or that the noise an prob is any better. Gravty wise the pipe being lower than the machine means that the machine actually doesnt need the pump to throw the water out.
Also you can remove the top cover of the machine and you will see the water reservoir where the water is channeled into where you add your powder and softner just have a visual check for any blockages sometimes powder is known to clog them up2008 Wins Jan Jimi Hendrix Live at Monterey: The Definitive Edition on HD DVD £12.98, £10 amazon voucher, £10 amazon voucher, £10 amazon voucher,£500 love2shop voucher, £10 amazon voucher, dvd and chocolate £8.12, Portable dvd player + town called eureka boxset £126Total £687.100 -
I checked the hose which seems to be clear and put it in a bucket on the floor. The water drained out ok but the dial still started clicking round whilst draining. I tried putting in loads of calgon incase it was a limescale problem but that doesn't seem to help either. I'll check the drawer and make sure there's no build up of powder too. Thanks for your help! ;DMy mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0

It sounds like the vacum return pipe might be blocked, or the pump is getting weak. A good local engineer should be able to service the machine for about £50 including callout.0
