Please Help, Elec bill hot water question..
I've recently moved (private rent) swopped from meters to billed g&e. Just got first elec bill 1 month a whopping £90! I think due to hot water:
we dont have high elec drainers (tumble dryer etc)
our hot water is always hot - even when "off" at the boiler, after some digging around i'm thinking we also have an immersion heater which is running off electricity as after more sleuthing i found a switch (like a wall socket) i turned if off. Is this the right thing to do?? Additionally there is a "switchmaster" device attatched which i've heard is meant to save u money but not sure how it works. It appears to work for central heating as the boiler fires up when switchmaster is on central heating. Is it best for me to run the hot water off the boiler too or keep on immersion heater, if the heater do i keep it on all the time or turn it off when not needed??
All help greatly appreciated!
Thanks
