It would be cheaper to hire a stretched limo.

A very quick calculation gives total running costs for this car of somewhere around £10 per mile !!!!!!!!! And I didn't include fuel in that calculation - probably the last time it was filled up, four star was 65p/ltr.

short journeys dont typically get the car up to operating temp (ie where the car was designed to run), and this can cause problems, for instance any water/condensation build up will never be able to dissipate because it'll never get hot enough to evaporate. Additionally short trips mean the engine runs with minimum lubrication (oil not hot enough, and therefore not flowing properly - only does this when it gets warm) so the engine will develop little metal on metal fractures. normally these arent a problem as a longer run essentially smooths these back as the engine works, but constant short runs dont let this happen, therefore ageing the engine prematurely. I'd do a long run in it periodically (60 miles?), and the italian tune up option is a no cost, no damage method or shunting carbon build ups. I'd do it.
if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.
