what causes roughcasting to become loose? we have had several weeks of torrential rain, would this have any bearing on it?
i've called insurance who say they will repair it if not wear and tear...how would this be defined as wear and tear?

poor workmanship when it was put on?
cracks allowing water penetration then it freezes and blows the face off it
not sure what would be classed as wear and tear
Id make sure you have no leaking gutters above it though0 -
99.9% of render products are sand and cement, the price for both these is very low and the job can be done within most peoples budget, sand and cement is concrete which is not really designed to be a decorative surface product as it is not breathable or flexible. The recent weather would find any small cracks in concrete and water ingress will blow the surface, if not now wait until the frost gets here. Wear and Tear ???? questionable, your insurance will try and get out of it. repair may just create damp in other places, sorry =-(0
