Courier services or Royal Mail

Hi
I need to send 3000 packages in January, 9000 in March and 12000 in September next year. Each package is around 25x20x4cm and weighs around 900g.
I'll also be sending around 300 boxes of 10.5kg measuring 40x24x26cm each month over the course of the year if my business takes off.
It's business to business so my customers will be open Monday to Friday, 8:00 til 18:00 and speed of delivery, tracking and insurance are not a concern.
Can anyone recommend a courier or is Royal Mial my best option?
Cheers

The best thing to do is get quotes from as many as possible. All will give discount for bulk. As for recommendation, I'd go for TNT as a carrier - not always the cheapest but never failed us in 10 years!0

Hi,
I run a small business and we dispatch about 80 parcels a week. We have generally stuck to Royal Mail for the past few years, and tended to use DHL for larger, more valuable parcels. However DHL prices rose and with the strikes we have become less reliant upon Royal Mail. (A huge amount of our products have gone missing and failed to reach our customers.)
We have just discovered Parcel Monkey, an online courier company. They have been brilliant - reliable, cheaper than a lot of other couriers, and they seem to pass their work to big courier companies - ours have been picked up by Fedex every time. Their 3 day delivery option has always delivered to our customers within 24 hours and they currently have Christmas offers on - 24 hour delivery for the price of 3 day. No complaints from us.
Worth having a look, not sure what your size parcels would cost, but we have generally found them to be cheaper than Royal Mail and much more reliable.0 -
I would suggest both of you the op and the post above need to be speaking to most of the carriers. UPS, DHL, TNT, UkMail, CityLink, FedEx directly as you should get some good rates. we currently use UK mail it cost us £5.25 upto 20kg.
The only issue the op may have is with his items being so light may be better by royal mail or the postal arms of DHL, THT, UKmail etc.
