Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour.
Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

Advice re letting agent
Comments
-
Two words - standing order.
If you pay your agent to rent collect insist that the rent is cleared in your account 10 days after the rent falls due. This 10 days will allow for weekends/bank holidays/christmas etc and mean you get your rent paid to you. Their payment terms ot your account should be listd in their letting terms and conditions.
Depending how they collect their fee, serve notice on the agent and get the tenant to pay rent direct to you each month.
As it seems you have an 'slow' agent get it in writing that the tenants deposit is properly protected (if you are in England and Wales) and confirm it with the relevant scheme.0
