Hi
I am travelling to the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday and am looking to park on the outskirts north of London (somewhere off the M1 as I am coming from Leicester).
If anyone has any advice on good places to park and then get the tube in?
Thanks

Depending on what time you are arriving at and leaving, there are probably different options. Brent Cross shopping centre with free car parking is at the bottom of the M1 and has Hendon and Brent Cross tube stations 10 mins walk away, but is probably only open shopping centre opening times. Also bus 266 goes from there to hammersmith bus station (lower) and the no 9 or 10 bus (upper) go from there to Royal Albert Hall. Brent cross tube itself has a small car park, but that is usually full during the day. Stanmore tube station has a big car park and is open 24 hours and is 5 mins from M1 junction 4. £3.20 to park there. Tube from there to Green Park and change onto piccaddilly line , 3 stops to South kensington and then a 10 min walk to the Albert Hall.

What I normally do when I made this trip
Down the M1 to M25, round to Jnc24 head down to cockfosters/oakwood, near oakwood tube you can park in the sidestreets all day (About 5min walk to station), or after 3pm you can park right oustide opposite station free
I have left the car there for 2 weeks before and got tube to Heathrow, never had any bother and leave the car there about once every 2 weeks when out in London for the evening, did it a couple of weeks ago for Monty Python at the Royal Albert Hall, and its a really easy direct route in on the tube from Oakwood
If you have google earth look up the Oakwood tube and you will see all the local streets you can park in,

Kilburn underground station on A5 just about 15 minutes drive south off M1; parking is free after 3pm ( side streets). Jubilee line is quite reliable weekdays ( zone 2).0

Hi Guys
Thanks so much for all your helpful replies. I am thinking of driving to Stanmore and getting the tube from there. Do you think there will be space in the car park at about 3.00 pm? If not can you park on the side streets?
Thanks0 -
In general arriving at a busy car park at 3pm is fine - the early starters will have arrived back and gone home leaving spaces
Whether this applies to Stanmore I'll leave to someone else.0
