royal mail compensation

hi all,

i posted my item on friday as special delivery, and was told it should be there on monday morning.

it arrived there on tuesday lunch time. the company i posted the item to told me that i should contact royal mail and should be entite to compensation.

has anyone have done a claim like that and what is the likelyhood they will pay out.

Yes just ring them up with the tracking number and ask for a refund they will issue a cheque straight away as long as it was delivered late,

Was your Special Delivery Next Day item delivered after the 1pm deadline had passed?
If so, we’re very sorry and we’ll refund whatever you paid for Special Delivery. An additional payment of £5 will be payable if the item was delivered more than 24 hours (one working day) after the guaranteed time of delivery or, £10 will be payable and your fee refunded if the item was delivered seven or more working days after the guaranteed time.

Just wondering how you know if it was delivered late? I sent something recently and it was special delivery by 1pm but the company claimed they didn't get it the next day, they said it was the day after that. When I checked my tracking number it said "this item has been delivered" and there was a picture of the signature but nowhere did it say what date it was delievered on or what time

well i was told by the company that they should've received it on monday but was delivered too them on tuesday.

i checked my tracking online on monday and it said the item has reached the po box, but the local post office didnt deliver the item

Years ago I rang them because I posted something Saturday and it didn't arrive till Tuesday.. rang them up and they sent a cheque for the price I paid.

if you post Saturday and miss last collection then Tuesday is the delivery day
depends if you mean pre or post the loss of Sunday collections
