Seem's like an amazing price for such a big screen, but I don't have a clue if this telly is actually any good (no mention of HD ready) - however it does say it has a Samsung panel, so it might be OK.....
46" Specvision Plasma EL4610 (you have to use this page to get this price - scroll down to section 10 and "add to basket" from here)

Doesn't sound as if it's HD compatible and I can't find any detailed specs for this TV.
Good price though!0 -

Just for information, is HD really much of a concern?
Or is it one of those things that will be a 'must have' in the future.
Unlike an analogue TV that will become totally obsolete.
I can imagine that non HD tvs will be in use for many years to come and, like 4x3 as opposed to WS not too much of an issue.

Yeah, I did find this page, but wasn't 100% sure it was the exact same model. I think it's a great deal whether it is HD or not - just imagine watching the World Cup on this baby!! (and I don't think you're likely to be able to to watch the World Cup in HD unless you're on Telewest anyway)0 -
It has DVI connector which only shows HD quality picture. No HDMI. So you have to find another way to get sound on the tv, maybe by a separate audio cable.

I'd stay clear of this one. It has absolutely terrible brightness/contrast, no info on number of scart sockets (and whether they're rgb), no component inputs, it will have horrible picture quality.

Well....
HD Ready, is a must have feature, if you want to watch HDTV programs on Sky,Telewest, or Freeview. And I expect soon, it will be coming down your BT line.
As, I have not actually seen a live HDTV broadcast, I cannot comment on if it is much better than SDTV (standard).
I have owned widescreen TV's for 12 years now, and do not have any 4:3 TV's in my house, so would never buy anything 4:3.0
