in Credit cards
Hi,
Some of the regulars may recall that I wanted to embark on my ‘stoozing adventure’ some months ago (around Dec/Jan). However, at that time, I did a lot of financial rearrangement. I dumped existing credit cards, obtained some new ones, changed my main bank account, opened various bank accounts to take advantage of opening offers (Smile & Lloyds). After this little spring-clean, I ended up where I had my mule card (egg money) but was unsuccessful when trying to apply for a 0% card. With all the credit searches my spring-clean caused, I did not dare make any more applications for a while.
Approximately six months has passed since then. Over the last two weeks, I’ve applied for and obtained 3 CC’s. I’ve not been refused any yet. My question is, do I dare go for another stoozing card or wait a while? I feel I’ve probably pushed my luck enough for now and don’t want to get refused. If I need to wait, how long?
Thanks,
Lee.

In general, two successful credit card applications ought to be your limit. BTW what cards have you now got and what cards do you have your eye on? Certain specifics can be identified if we know what we are dealing with (For instance Capital One will allow you to apply for a card as a new customer only a month after closing one but it far stricter about repeat applications - you must not apply within six months AND you can't ask for a credit limit increase within six months of a previous request either).....under construction.... Hi Milarky, thanks for your reply.
Current cards are:
Amex Blue - I used this for my monthly spending until the 2% cashback offer was reduced to 1%. It has no balance now and I won't be using it anymore but I need to keep it until my cashback is paid into the account in approx. 6 months.
Amex Plat - I use this for all day-to-day spending for the 2% cashback. It's repaid in full each month.
Nationwide - For holidays abroad only. Repaid in full each month.
Egg Money - My backup cashback card for when Amex is not accepted and my mule card for SBT's.
Halifax Scouts Card - Stooze pot.
Post Office Card - Stooze pot. Not actually sure if I've got this one. My rang me at work earlier and told me it had come through, but when I got home and had a look, it's actually the credit agreement to be signed and returned along with about 10 documentation items, so I assume it will be ok.
I've simply been working my way through the top cards at stoozing.com, so the next one I would try for would probably be Stroud & Swindon.
Any advice appreciated.

That's issued by Co-op bank is it not - Co-op has a policy of matching limits so if you get that one it is worth enquiring about that. Also if it is still fee-free then you could do repeat transfers (ie. refunding minimum payments). I would have suggested an MBNA card - but one with a capped fee - like Virgin - particularly on account of their repeat offers on as large a limit as you can get. Your general approach of only looking at fee free cards is sound.---lee--- wrote:I've simply been working my way through the top cards at stoozing.com, so the next one I would try for would probably be Stroud & Swindon......under construction....
