Router connections

I have just installed a Netgear DG834G router and a wireless adaptor for my laptop. They work fine, well, at least for me! However, none of the other three users of the main computer, which runs XP, can access the Internet. As I am sure most of you in the know are aware, with a broadband router, there is no need to press a "connect" button; it is simply a question of clicking on Internet Explorer and you can easily access the Internet without doing anything else. When my younger daughter tried this using her log-in, pop up connecting boxes appeared -which would not then allow her to link up with the Internet. Although I changed her log-in to "never dial a connection", the pop up box still appears. What is going on and how do I change this? The whole router set up was done via my log-in -is this the reason for the block?

Thanks sra, but still no cigar!
I wonder if it is to do with the fact that we have two people (one of them me) with "administrator rights"?0 -
It shouldn't have anything to do with admin rights. When you log in as yourself carry out the following tests:
Click Start->Run
Type "cmd" and press enter
In the lovely black and white screen that appears type:
"ipconfig" - and press enter. You will get something like:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.12
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.2
This will give you the PC's IP address and gateway (make a note of this).
Then type "ping https://www.bbc.co.uk" and press enter - you should get this (or something close):
Pinging https://www.bbc.net.uk [212.58.224.115] with 32 bytes
Reply from 212.58.224.115: bytes=32 time=17ms TTL=248
Reply from 212.58.224.115: bytes=32 time=31ms TTL=248
Reply from 212.58.224.115: bytes=32 time=20ms TTL=248
Reply from 212.58.224.115: bytes=32 time=25ms TTL=248
This basically proves your connectivity to the internet (you just bounced some information off the BBC's web servers!) and more importantly - tells you what you SHOULD see even when logged in as a different user!
Then log in as the 'Other' user and carry out the same. You should get exactly the same information. If you do then the problem lies within Internet Explorer as the PC itself can see the internet quite happily. If you don't then something is falling down in relation to the 'Other' accounts establishing the PC on your wireless network (this shouldn't happen)
Another tack is to simply remove all your Dial Up connections. In control panel->Network Connections remove all the Dial up connections.
What worries me slightly is that the Pop up connecting boxes are appearing at all. When you choose "never dial a connection" then that should all stop. Is the connection pop up that is appearing the normal one you were used to?0 -
Solved! Deleted and rebooted et voila! Thanks a lot for your help. I am typing this in front of the tele, while the router is working away in the room above my head. Long live wireless connections!0
