Car Scrappage Dilemma

I am currently thinking about trading my car in with the government scrappage scheme, I have read a lot about it and looked into it but would like some advice from money savers!!

My car at the moment is on its last legs and I for sure would not get £2000 for it anywhere which leans me to the scrappage scheme, I would have a more reliable car and less likely with things to go wrong with it in the long run.

I also have a question about credit, my current credit rating is quite poor and this worries me as I dont think I'll be accepted to purchase one. Do dealers accept guarantuers for cars?

As you can see I'm in a bit of a dilemma and need some good advice...!!

Thank you in advance!!
