Second Class post through Paypal/Royal Mail

Does anyone know a way of paying for Second Class post online? I like using paypal to print postage etc for items, as I'm quite short of money it saves me having to use the cash I have, however its ok using paypal when I send items abroad but if I want to send within the UK, there is no Second Class option - does anyone know why, or if it is available anywhere else?

The only way to do 2nd class online is through the royal mail online directly. You can't pay via paypal though. Paypal do it just to be annoying:D

I often use the Royal Mail print postage online service, it is exactly the same as the paypal system except that it offers 2nd class. You also need to pay by credit card if total is under £3.50.

You do still need to take the lot to the PO though if you want proof of postage, but if I am working a lot I often so this and then swing by the delivery office in the evening with the stamped mail and my COP ready filled and they just stamp it for me and I'm finished in less than a minute.

I'm quite happy going to the post office still, I'd just rather not have to pay with cash (or wait for 5 days for the money to be withdrawn from paypal so that I can afford it!) and pay with my paypal balance....I did look yesterday briefly, I couldn't find where to buy the postage online without having to pay £4.99 a month.
