I tend to park outside someones house now and spend the 10mins walking into town.
City-centre parking can be a nightmare, but if you are wise you can normally find some free parking.
We had this recently in a trip to blackpool to see the lights with the kids. Car parking was £11.00, £5.20 on the street meters and free if you parked up and walked over the railway footbridge.
For 40 extra footsteps we saved a fortune...0 -
If you still want to fight it, go over to http://forums.pepipoo.com and ask the legal begals on there!0

He/she says whilst doing exactly that.
Okay, so change-giving machines may be more expensive to run. But it wouldn't cost any more to give the time paid for to the nearrest minute.
Probably wouldnt as its all done with a little machine but why you put £3 in i would never know when you could only have used 2one of the famous 50 -

If I'd used £2 it would have only given me an hour. We wanted more time so I naively assumed the machine would print out the amount of time relevant to the amount of money, ie: one hour and three quarters. If I'd have put in £4 I'd have got 2 hours but have paid 80p too much.0 -
Are you still going on about this?
At least you will know for next time.
Chalk it up to experience.0 -
Some machines near me do not start timing for daytime use until 7.00am So if you get there before 7 it is still on the overnight price. So any money you put in will only show upto 7.00am on ticket. Then if you are still there at night you have to go and feed it at 7.00pm to pay for night parking. Sucks!!!!!!!
Read those signs carefully.!!!!!0 -
My experience is that car park prices are always odd amounts, never round pounds, and although I think I may have seem some machines that paid out change in the past it was so long ago I can't remember if I'm just imagining it.
The secret is keep a small (hidden) stash of 10p and 20p coins somewhere in your car so you'll always have the correct money available. If you can then plan ahead. I've got to go to Birkenhead on Friday, the all day car park costs £2.80 so I made sure today, Tuesday, that I've got the correct change ready. If Wirral MBC think they can get me to put three pound coins in their machine they've got another think coming! The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us
Baby we were born to walk0
