Virgin CC - has this happened to anyone else?

My partner transfered an outstanding balance to a Virgin Creditcard so that he could benefit from 0% interest for 9 months. I have since found out that because he was a couple of days late with the first payment (not the best start!!) he has been charged interest at their standard rate for the whole amount for the whole period. I can't find the terms and conditions although I am sure it is probably in there. Just wondered if this had happened to anyone else or if we are the only ones to be absentminded

Yes, I'm sure it has happened to lots of people. And the sad thing is that you have now lost the 0 per cent offer. Your only way out is to talk to them: if there is some reason why the late payment is their fault (eg if it was supposed to be made by direct debit that was not set up in time) then let them know, otherwise just apologise nicely, and ask them to give you the interest-free deal for the remainder of the nine months. Otherwise, find a way to pay off the money or move the balance somewhere else quickly.

...and to rub salt into the wound, they've probably marked his credit file to show the late payment as well - possibly affecting his credit rating.

2b The interest we will charge on transactions, including for introductory promotions, will be as set out below. Note that we will not increase any promotional rate during the promotional period, unless you do not keep to the terms and conditions. If you do not keep to the terms and conditions, we may, at any time, totally withdraw any promotional rates which apply to your account from the day after your last statement date and apply the standard rates shown below.
