'Long Life' Home Made Treats Recipes?

Hello!
I'm after some recipies for some nice 'bakery' type bits that I could send our to some friends in the army... The thing is, it needs to be something that will keep well for quite a while? I've never sent a parcel before so I'm not sure how long they take to get to the lads at the other side..
My thoughts got stuck on flap jacks as they tend to keep for a while, but does anyone know how long they would keep,, wrapped in foil? Made with honey, butter and oats (with sultanas, seaseme seeds, and maybe choclate added... that kind of thing)
Anyone know how long Twinks Hob Knobs keep for too?
Also, any other suggestions? They need to be relatively quick and easy to make as I also work full time with a young family so my evenings tend to go whizzing past! :rotfl:
Many thanks
Shortie

I find twinks hobknobs keep well but the problem is they disappear soooo fast we can't be sure. My daughter has just eaten one from Friday that was in the biscuit tin and it was lovely she says, maybe someone else on here can resist temptation better than us and has kept them longer!Clearing the junk to travel light

Chocolate cranberry brownies :j DH took some as a gift to China recently, and they travelled really well. I've got a recipe for delicious flapjack, too. I'll find that later

Things like parkin and sticky black gingerbread are best kept before eating...............
(well, it always says so in the recipes, but they don't last at all well in this house;)).It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
what about things that are more sweet-like than baked - homemade fudges and toffees would have a good shelf life.0

A fruit cake, especially one laden with booze would keep well.
Fudge, toffee, turkish delight, marshmallows0 -
Anzac Biscuits? I think that's what they were designed for?

Make them a Christmas type fruit cake as it will last for months. You could make it at the week end and feed with brandy. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
Twinks hobnobs, fruit cake, flapjacks, shortbread. If your sending to Iraq/Afghan please remember it can take anything from 1 - 6 weeks to arrive. Avoid anything with chocolate as it tends to melt in the heat. I used to send my ex hubby homemade cakes and biscuits and they always went down well with the lads plus booze in the fruitcake is a nifty trick as alcohol is a definate NoNo. I also use to make rum truffles and send them over. Remember you got a 2Kg limit though xtotal debt at LBM £4800
Debt as of Mar 2016 £1790 Hope to be debt free July 2016:eek:

Thanks dreamywings. Someone mentioned at this time of year that chocolate was fine? If not I'll avoid it as it could be quite messy :rotfl:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
