Noisy fridge freezer

We have got a new fridge freezer, trouble is the compressor seems very loud to me, it gives off an annoying hum when its running

It is frost free so i expected it may be a bit louder because of the fan but that seems ok

I have read reviews on my model and they have quite a few "its really quiet" comments.

Anyone else got a Samsung frige/freezer and tell me if its loud or not please ?

I bought a Norfrost chest freezer 2 months ago. On the reviews people also made "really quiet" comments which influenced my purchase. This freezer turned out to be so annoying I had to move it from the kitchen into my workshop. It drove me crazy and also made me start noticing my fridge when it was cycling on and off which had never previously bothered me. It seems that people have different thresholds of what they consider to be noisy.

It would be better back in the kitchen than your workshop.

I assumed it would be better in there as it's colder than the kitchen so doesn't have to work as hard

deanos - do you still have this problem?

I have one of these fridges, and it just keeps getting louder and louder. After a few visits they replaced the compressor, which reduced the diesel engine noise, back to a normal fridge hum. But since then it is getting louder and louder again - to the point that I can hear it in the bedroom, and I lie there every morning being irritated by it!

Plus there is a 'swooshy' noise, which must be the gas moving around or something. And it is running about 12-15 hours a day, which must be killing my electricity bill.

Bought it from Dixons about 6 months ago, and have been in touch with them almost non-stop about trying to get it to a reasonable level. In the near future we are renovating to have an open plan kitchen, and this simply wouldn't be possible with a fridge this noisy!

At this point they are talking about adding some extra gas to stop it running so often, and perhap there is some problem with the newly replaced compressor. I have now had FIVE vists by engineers, which require a full day off work every time, as they will only give full day bookings. And another one next week.

Anyway, just sharing my frustration. I just want to get rid of the thing, but it's just such a waste...

Can anyone advise me if I can start charging Samsung for the time required for the call outs? There are only so many times I can have someone out to have a look. Plus they never send an engineer first time, always someone to do an 'assesment', which means two days off work for every repair.
