JPG recovery

I recntly used my new Leica M3 digital camera, its been fine, but as i took 2 photos the other day the battery died :(:(:(

thus when i try to access these they come up "cannot acces or wrong format":mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

I've hex editored them and all there is are y's
eg

"YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" :eek:

for the code not like a normal hex file "sg898fd768gd8"

The files are still the right size, can i recover the data.???

I use a free piece of software by Convar called PC Inspector to recover damaged or deleted file from my camera.

It works well with deleted files, even formatted CompactFlash cards are recoverable - sometimes.

Give it a shot, I downloaded it from here http://www.pcinspector.de/smart_media_recovery/uk/welcome.htm after first finding it on the cover of a Photography magazine.

To be honest though, I've seen images on my camera screen, switched off before it's finished uploading them onto the card and corrupted them beyond repair.

I'm gonna get a newe battery, try transfer again - if that dont work i'll try your program.

Hopefully i'l get my pics, cos their not deleted just weirdly corupted.
