I was a long time virgin/ntl customer. Paid approx £35/m for TV, landline, broadband and mobile.
Mid October recieved a sales call, offering me the following...
:j
Further to our conversation, this is the package I can offer you for returning to BT
The whole package is £36.60 however we give you discounts on top of this, below is a break down of the package
Line rental
£14.80 per month this includes services such as call diversion, call display, call waiting.
Broadband
£12.50 per month with wireless access and up to 20 meg speeds
Mobile
New mobile handset for £5 a month
You will also get free calls from your mobile to your business line and from your business line to the mobile
Calls
£5 a month with 500 minutes for local and national calls.
Landline to Mobile
10pp/m capping at 20p
At the end of each year you will get the following as a credit in your account.
10% back on line rental
5% back on broadband
5% back on call spend
5% back on mobile
Everything gets combined into one bill and if you ever needed to contact BT you will have one designated team with a 0800 number who will deal with everything for you….
With the end of yer discount it came to the same as Virgin (minus the TV)
Fine. I was told the installation would take place on 2nd November. There would be no disruption to my business and I could even keep my business number.
It took 4 attempts to install the phone line properly. I even had an old bt line in the house. No phone and still no broadband for over a week. Clients can't get in touch etc. I was told the original order had an error in it and that the earliest I could get it sorted was 13th November. Next Friday.
Finally got the phone sorted on Saturday. Still no broadband.
Now the next step was the mobile phone.
I'm now informed that the above charges for the mobile do not include minutes!!!!! The cost of the package would go to approx £43:mad:
So I've moved to BT to pay £8 more a month for 180 less mobile minutes and no TV.
Today, the account manager reachable on (01793 593051) was 'at lunch' for 3hrs (Peter or Adam) then 'involved in a car crash' and unable to speak to me. I was questioned on how I managed to get the phone number in the first place.
have you tried calling Bt compaints? Good Luck.

I'm glad to see it's situation normal at BT!
There isn't a great deal you can do, which is the sad thing, other than vote with your feet. There is a BT company rep on here, but they've been pretty useless when I have tried to contact them as well.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
