I tried to reclaim PPI from my loan from First Plus and they have said that they will not refund as I signed the agreement. I was told at the time that I had to take this out in order to get the loan. Normally I would just let it go but my hubby not working, we behind in mortgage and I had hoped this would come through.
Advice please

This is just the norm for Firstplus. Just to be sure, it was actually Firstplus that sold the PPI to you and you did not use a broker? If you did then its the broker you make the complaint to. If you used FP then you need to send them another letter of complaint (until you get a final response from them) or if 8 weeks are up since first complaining then you can go to FOS now without a final response. You do know that FOS are upholding 99% of complaints against Firstplus so you have a 99% chance of winning. Don't forget to send everything recorded delivery so you have a proof and good luck.finaniciallyfitforfortys wrote: »I tried to reclaim PPI from my loan from First Plus and they have said that they will not refund as I signed the agreement. When was the loan taken out out of interest??
If you do go to FOS there is a long waiting list but if you have proof of being behind with the mortgage there is a fast track system for complaints like this and you would be able to ask for it to be fast tracked I would think.0 -

hi thanks for replying, the PPI was arranged and sold through First plus and i tried to say i didnt want insurance as it bumps up payments but they said i had to in order to get the loan. it was taken out 2 1/2 yrs ago. I put my first letter into 1st Plus i August and received 1 letter to say they would look into it, 2nd letter to say they couldnt meet deadline as investiagtion ongoing and last letter was final outcome. is it worth pursuing because im just so disheartened with all thats going on- normally id be first person to tell everyone to fight onsealed pot challenge 4 member 10860 -

Hi there
I would definately keep pursuing this, keep going with them, if they have not issued the final decision, it may be worth you asking them to reconsider, otherwise take it to the FOS.
I am aware of a few who have requested for the telephone recordings from FP, it maybe also worthwhile to ask them in writing to send you a copy of these.
Good luck, and keep at them.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Err yes definately carry on. Regardless of what the recording says. Go to FOS.
P.S. I have read posts where the recording has been sent out but actually is blank or does say what they said it does.If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!
