Cavity wall insulation?

I've moved to a house that was built originally as a bungalow in about 1964, then had an extension in the mid 90's to convert the roof space into two bedrooms and to provide a garage and new kitchen on the side. I use a downstairs room as an office (I work from home) but find it really cold in the daytime, especially now the weather is turning colder.
I'm wondering if cavity wall insulation will help as I guess it was not common when the house was built? If so, any recommendations on choosing a company to do it?

For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
