No Isopropyl Alcohol, will vodka do?

I had a bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol but now can't find it anywhere. I also cant leave the house to go get some more as I'm waiting on a delivery.
I'm about to stick something to my bathroom tiles and the instructions say to wash, dry then wipe over with the alcohol to remove any soap residue.
So, will ordinary alcohol do (i.e. vodka) or are the two miles apart and I'm just being stupid?

why waste the vodka?! I'd use a bit of methylated spirit instead0

Dont think I've got any of that left either, andy.
Is that really bad that I have no cleaning stuff but I have plenty of vodka? :rotfl:
(OH is given a bottle of vodka or whisky every Xmas by the places he visits in connection with his work. As we really dont drink very much, it adds up and after a few years we have a whole bar's worth of alcohol.)

Found this in case anyone else ever needs a use for their vodka...
Clean your bathroom. Vodka will help make a dingy bathroom sparkle. It is ideal for both glass and chrome and can remove that spotty dullness that effects the fixtures in your bathroom with little effort. Diluted in a spray bottle, it will remove hairspray and soap residue from the surfaces of your bath, especially ceramic tile. Cleaning with vodka is also effective on mold and mildew.
Kill many odors in fabrics by misting vodka over them. This works particularly well on clothes and furniture that smell of cigarette smoke.

Vodka would be ok to do what your after though (i'd use it sparingly though
).
Or do you have any surgical spirit as that would do the job too?0 -
Lol...nope.Herman - MP for all!0

You could try any of these for removing soap / grease : White Spirit, Nail Varnish remover, WD40, petrol, paraffin, turps / brush cleaner. They'll all do the job, but may pong a bit for a while.0

depends what youre sticking onto the tiles. some of those products will leave a residue behind. certainly WD40 will.
you need a solvent that evaporates. ie alcohol based.Get some gorm.0 -
Done now anyway, I used the vodka.
