They reckoned that most people they saw with terrible hip injuries, ankle fractures that wouldn't heal, etc, were either bikers or people who were wearing slippers at the time. The OT I went out with on house visits was quite adamant that they were no use, compared to a pair of fluffy socks and something like a pair of Skechers pumps.
You're right, Jojo. When I had my hip replacement I was advised to either wear those granny slippers that are completely closed in or rubber soled slipper socks. At home I wear chunky socks and sew on my own sole usually suede salvaged from cut-up jumble sale clothes.0 -
I have a gorgeous pair of fawn slipper boots but I dont wear them much - I prefer fluffy socks. Cant bear wearing shoes indoors as I broke my little toe in July and it didnt heal properly so when I come in from work its usually killing me so I just wear my socks round the house. OH hates them though because of the fluff!!! :rotfl:*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

My feet are usually cold...but slippers make them too hot and suffocated:rotfl:
I normally just wear socks around the house:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

You are all so right about slippers being a hazard. I have 1 pair of slip on slippers, which I really should bin, they are lethal and I have nearly fallen down stairs in them more than once! I usually just wear fleecy socks in the evening, (no slippers) and a pair of v comfy slip on trainers at home during the day.
