Is it just me? Or is anyone else horribly annoyed by them?
It's bad enough that the adverts drive me up the wall, but I just dont get which site you would go to? I type in "credit card comparison" into Google and a host come up.
What are peoples opinions on them?

I'm afraid this is just a symptom of the internet (googling) age, like most mainstream services and products you will find a shedload of returns when searching through google.
Most of the ones you've seen on TV or the main sponsored ones on google are pretty good. Or you could ignore them all and just look on this website for the best cc deals.0 -
It's just such a minefield, I can understand why people can find credit cards difficult to understand. I mean for example, you type in "Credit Card Comparison" into Google and you are hit with a number of choices. The problem is that it is hard to distuinguish which one is better.
Look at these two pages, both are high up on the sponsored links.
http://www.compareandsave.com/
http://www.beatthatquote.com/
Both have the same kind of layout, and both have a massive amound of cards to look at. How do you know which one will find the best deals for you? Which ones offeres the best savings account? Insurance? Etc. Etc.
I guess it is the same with most things, but there is such a massive choice in this rather cluttered market that sometimes it isn't hard to feel a bit overwhelmed.
Sorry to rant, it's just been annoying me for a while.0 -
Perfectly understandable. I work in the IT industry and know a lot more then the average user about searching the internet and I find it baffling !!
I find moneysupermarket.com, moneyextra.com and of course moneysavingexpert.com the best sites. Ignore the rest, they won't tell you anything useful that these 3 sites don't tell you.0 -
It's just all the conflicting reports, I had a family member tell me last night to not go for one of those "big tv comparison" site (his choice of words, not mine) and go for a smaller one as they will be trying to find the very best deals etc as they need them to stand out.
Then I had another family member who won't go with Moneysupermarket as she dislikes Peter Jones :rotfl:0 -

Understandable as his ego seams to be expanding as fast as his bank balance...
Most of the best cards are listed on this site for 0% balance transfers, 0% purchases, cash back etc
I find the meerkats and gocompare pretty good for insurance quotes etc0 -

With all due respect to your family member, that's very, very unlikely. If you went to 2 different websites and looked for the best 0% balance transfer deal you will probably find both of them will report Virgin as the best deal.
You really have to put likes and dislikes to one side when dealing with your financial matters (I can't stand him in those tv ads either though, I keep wishing a truck would come along and run him and his trolley over )0 -
