eta misshiggerty what is an aga snugburner conversion??? I need to know please!

      Hi gratefulforhelp

I have an oil-fired Aga, which is lovely but costs way too much nowadays. 'Snugburner' are a firm which do a pressure jet conversion for Agas, so they can be turned off or down and put on timers, because they reheat much faster. So you don't have to run them all the time.

There is a potential noise issue, but they say they have sorted this. I need to go look at a conversion they have done, to hear one in operation. They offer this - I just have to e-mail them.

Aga are offering electric conversions for oil Agas which we are also looking at, but they say they would have to stop our Aga heating the water, which means extra work to put in an immersion or connect the tank to the c/h. And I would lose my lovely warm airing cupboard where I dry my clothes because the hot water pipes from the Aga would go cold....

Aga are also working on an oil -> oil pressure jet conversion, but are still at the design/pilot stage, and still wouldn't do the hot water.

I'm tending towards the 'Snugburner' option (which would allow us to keep the hot water) but I'm a bit cautious about signing up with what is obviously a very small one or two man firm - just in case! I don't want to install something if it is going to be a service liability because it's so 'one-off' IYSWIM. So I have to investigate how much of the Snugburner conversion would be standard pressure jet technology. Not sure how to do this.

      Hope this makes sense?

      MissH

Im starting with full lists again....have made some headway in the kitchen, but the more I do, the more I seem to undo what I already did!

I cleared lots of carp last night, but the units are far from clear. All of my decluttering from upstairs has made its way downstairs and needs to be ebayed, freecycled, or dumped as appropriate.....
