New TFT - 'film coating'

I've had a new TFT and have noticed a clear film that can peel off. Should I remove it? It's the sort of thing you get on a new mobile phone and such like. I've emailed the support, but have had no reply after nearly a week.

I would and have on my PC. It's unlikely to get scratched in the same way a mobile screen would.0
