Don't forget that many of them close for all of January.

Is that including the meal ?

Bear in mind that the weather could be bad in January, so unless you have a really nice hotel that is a break in itself (e.g. spa, pool etc) you want to be somewhere where there are things you can do in bad/wet weather. In my experience, the lakes aren't brilliant for this. What about a city break in somewhere like Chester or Liverpool ?

yes including the meal if possible, chester would be nice
  • We went last January to Devere Carden Park hotel near Chester which is a lovely hotel with spa and leisure facilities. You can get a good deal in Jan. Think we paid around £90 for the 2 of us for dinner bed and breakfast in a room overlooking the golf course last year.
