6 free bottles of wine if you open Smile Visa card

Just had this email from Smile. Not the best card but maybe worth opening if you get some free wine! Looks like it is only open to Smile current account holders.

We've teamed up with Visa to bring you a tip-top summer offer. If you open a smile Visa credit card before 30th June 2006 and spend £250 on it before 31st July, you'll get 6 bottles of wine delivered to your doorstep.*
Not only will you get some tasty wine, you'll be getting a fantastic bit of plastic too. With some cards you get a low standard rate or cashback on purchases but with a smile credit card you can have the lot.
A special reduced rate
As a smile current account holder you'll get a special reduced rate of 10.9% APR typical/variable on a smile credit card (non current account customers get a rate of 13.8% APR variable). Good eh?

Safe shopping
If your smile credit card details are ever used fraudulently by someone else through no fault of your own, you will not be liable for any loss.

0.5% cashback
And if all that's not enough, for every purchase you make with your card, you'll get 0.5% cashback** too. And unlike some cards, you don't have to wait for a year to get your cashback - it's paid monthly.

It's no wonder it was voted 'best credit card' for the fourth year running at the Guardian Consumer Finance Awards 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
This offer is only available to a special few (and you're one of em'), so apply now and get your hands on this top-notch card. Visit smile.co.uk/creditcard, then log into your account as normal and click on the 'open more accounts' button.

That was the one good thing about them when 0.5% was the 'standard' rate of cashback. (Now, if this was raised to 1 percent!)

Personally I don't rate the card at all, as there are far better on the market. I was only suggesting it for someone who can afford an extra credit search on their record in exchange for 6 bottles of wine!
