Help with odd paypal charges

Hi all
bit confused at the mo.

I use a debit card from O2 with my paypal account, you get a text every time you spend with your balance etc.

I've noticed that every time I use paypal in some way or another, I get a charge!

I've just changed my address about five minutes ago, get an o2 text saying:
£1 spend ref PAYPAL LU 35314369001
This happened the other day aswell when I'd not even been near paypal.

What is going on???

also these transactions don't show on my paypal account info.
I'm fuming as I've no idea whats going on! Have just sent them an email, just waiting to see if anyone can explain this - by the way my O2 card isnt even my premier card on ebay (my co op visa is)

I've noticed this too! I've used it twice for my online Tesco shopping and been charged £2 extra eachtime!

Hmmm here's my reply, near in mind I've been charged for simply logging
into paypal and updating my personal details!

I understand that you are enquiring why you are being charged by PayPal
every time you add or update the information of your card. I apologise for

the transaction on your card is most likely a temporary
authorisation, which may appear on your debit or credit card.

* An authorisation is a common method banks use when validating credit
or debit cards
* The authorisation will remain on your card for a short time and will
show a "hold" or "pending" status
* It may take a few minutes or up to 30 days, depending on your bank,
for the transaction to be removed from your account
* You may see an authorisation even if the card was not approved

Please contact PayPal Customer Service if this charge remains after 30
days.

Note that for any card you add to or edit on your PayPal account, our
credit card processor temporarily places a 1.00 GBP temporary charge on
your account as part of the credit or debit card authorisation process.

There have been a number of threads about this recently and it seems that certain cards are imposing a charge on paypal transactions. If I can find all the threads I might merge them as there seems to be a pattern emerging and people might be able to help each other..
