Toilets

I want to have a new bathroom fitted pretty cheaply.
The toilet I have at the moment uses a waste pipe set into the (concrete) floor, I guess it's just an old-fashioned kind?
All the new toilets I have seen whilst shopping would use a waste pipe set into the wall.
Can one still buy the old kind, or is there some sort of cheapish conversion kit (bit worried about it blocking up though), or do I need to sort out a new waste pipe through the wall?
Any advice gratefully received.

Yes you want a bent connector which will take you from the "p" trap in the shop to an "s" trap; yours. They should sort you out in the shop.0

Thanks very much. I had actually already seen the p-trap to s-trap converters, but I didn't know what a P-trap or an s-trap was!
Thanks for your help!0 -
All wc pans are now HO,not p or s trap0 -
i'm afraid all the advice you have been given is not correct you do not need any kind of converter and all pans are not now h.o.ask in any branch of graham for an CLASSIC twyford s-trap pan which is an off the shelf item and will set you back less than £20.00.0

All pans are Ho now ,the s trap you refer to will be old stock from twyfords, and can only be used with a low/level cistern, not close/coupled as 90% of tiolets are now.thats why they are only £20 as you quote. And they are generaly only purchsed for replacements.
If someone is having a new suite fitted, who want,s one with a flush pipe nowadays.0 -
Yes modern wc pans are "ho" which makes things easier for adapting. As for the one on the shelf it depends whether its a washdown or syphonic as to whether its low level or close coupled.0

That's the beauty of living out in the sticks. You can still get long drops up here.0

The poster wanted to fitt a new siute not a replacement,so a s trap would be of no use.
And round hear s traps are not available in stock,to order only.0
