Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had taken part in a discussion forum/group run by Saros. I have been invited to attend one next week and am a bit nervous - although the payment of £60 for attending is going someway to alleviate these fears!!!
Can anyone tell me anything about them, if they have attended these in the past.
Thanks

hi, I attended one last year about Japan. We had sandwiches, tea and juice in a little room before we went into a bigger room. 2 people ran the discussion group. i think we introduced ourselves first and then had a discussion about items people had brought in.
we were then split into groups and had to discuss various things and give mini presentations.
it lasted a couple of hours and was quite fun! we then got paid in cash at the end on our way out. its well worth the money for only a couple of hours doing very little. everyone who attended hadnt been before but we still managed to have a good time.Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
I did one in Bham last year and met someone from here! We had to taste test crisps. I come home not only with a nice sum of money but 26 bags of crisps!
Well worth going to if you get an invite.0 -
My Mum has done a couple, I've never been able to make any. Mum really enjoys them, finds it interesting talking about the stuff and meeting new people. I would jump at the chance if the right one came up when I could get there. Mind you I'd have driven to BHam just for the free crisps! The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0

I've been invited to one in Manchester next week. I've never done a Saros one before but did one for Mint last week, this was the first time I'd done one. For the Mint one I got paid £40 and for next week it'll be £70, both for 2 hours "work"

I turned up about 2 minutes late to a Saros one in Watford last year. They had already filled up the room (presumably they overbook these things?) so they sent me away but I still got my £40 cash!!!
I was well chuffed to have missed it as I didn't like the look of it - the participants were in a room, but they were being observed through a 1-way mirror by a team of young researchers and their dicussion was also being shown via a live TV link in another room. I was a bit intimidated to be honest, I would feel quite self conscious being watched (it didn't help that the researchers were about the same age as me)0 -
