  • I had no problems with an extension for my son through the DFG - everything was completed within about nine months, from applying to the end result.

If I were you, I would contact your building inspector (we had one based at the council) and ask him to investigate the reasons for the delays.

Have you tried putting a complaint in with the manager of the Anchor you are going through? It would likely get the ball rolling. Which branch is this, out of interest?

I would put a complaint in writing to the manager. They would have to respond to that.

Did you not want to say which branch it is? I know a few of them, I thought I might be able to help.

Your first port of call should be your O T, she should be working with the grant officer , so you would be best talking to the O T and explaining your situation. Ive gone through a similar situation to you all areas are diferent , we have a very long wait here to get the help needed. Our O T worked very well with the grant officer from the local council and they had a lot of meetings at our bungalow to do measurements etc . I found that the paper work was so long to get sorted and a few meetings also with the finance officer . Then you have to have the workmen come to estimate the works . From start to finish it took us 14 months to get the work completed, my husband couldnt come home until the work was done as there was no he could live here without the adaptations being made. Good luck to you.
