Thank you all for these replies - have been busy at work so have only just read them but yes I will call to have this repaired.
The person who did the gas work is registered as I saw his Corgi card and checked that at the time when he put our boiler in (before he did the gas hob).
CORGI as registration authority died on 31st March this year. It was mandatory for all RGIs to transfer to the new register which comenced on 1st April. No period of grace. If boiler fitted in last 7½ months then he should have shown you a GasSafe card.
Just because nothing has happened doesn't mean he didn't.and I think he said he was going to call someone to look at it but nothing ever happened.
