DVLA Reg check
I am about to buy a used blue Peugeot 206 CC. I checked with my insurance about cost etc, when i gave them the reg number. They said DVLA matched it to a Black 206 CC.
Call center staff were not to savvy and asked for the details etc for the policy change. Duly ammended the details and accepted the policy change.
Why would DVLA have a different colour etc. I spoke to the salesman who said it happens more often than not. Should i be concerned.

I've never known the DVLA to have the wrong colour on record from the factory. If it is a very very dark blue, then black may have been a more accurate description.
Don't worry about it but DO get a full HPI check.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

DVLA should have the correct colour registered. Suggest you don't buy it, its French after all with a head gasket waiting to happen...

Can happen quite often where it has been colours or has a fancy name which doesn't represent the real colour! I'd imagine blue and black get mixed up a fair bit.
My Dad owned a light blue car that was classified as 'grey'! It is no where near that. Similar my car was put down as grey instead of silver.
If the colour isn't too far out I wouldn't worry too much about it but just double check things.0 -
DVLA can/do mess up the colour on cars a fair bit from what I can tell, either because of confusion when the data is entered (I think they only have basic colour options in the DB), or if you've ever sent the V5 back for any reason they can mess up there.
From memory when we changed the tax class on our car it went from Blue to Red on the V5, which required a call and a replacement V5 to sort out.
Check the Vin on the car compared to the V5, as that is another possible reason for the V5 having the wrong colour (if the car is a ringer).0
